Tan Sri Dato' Seri Ir. Shamsuddin Abdul Kadir

Tan Sri Shamsuddin is the Chairman and Founder of the Sapura Group. Under his leadership, from telecommunication company in 1975, Sapura Group has since diversified into various areas of various industries, including oil and gas, industrial and automotive manufacturing, communications, aviation, and property development. Sapura Group is now one of the leading local knowledge and technology in Malaysia.Tan Sri Shamsuddin graduated from Brighton Technical College in the United Kingdom and began his career at Telekom Malaysia where he held several key positions. Sapura Group has grown into a leading knowledge and technology company in Malaysia.

Tan Sri Shamsuddin is also the co-founder the Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia Foundation where he had served as Chairman of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia from 2001 to 2009 and was inaugurated as the Pro Chancellor in 2009. In 2007, University of Brighton, United Kingdom conferred the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science to Tan Sri Shamsuddin in recognition of his outstanding contribution to engineering development in Malaysia and the development of the Brighton Alumni Association of Malaysia. For his numerous contributions, he has been awarded with Honorary Doctorates from various Malaysian universities.

Tan Sri Shamsuddin is a senior fellow of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia and Academy of Science Malaysia. In 2006, Tan Sri Shamsuddin was conferred with the prestigious “Malay Personality of Distinction” award and in 2011, he received the “Jewels of Muslim World” award from OIC Today Magazine in collaboration with OIC International Business Centre, for his contributions in the development of the Malaysian and Muslim world economy.

Tan Sri Shamsuddin began his career at Telekom Malaysia where he held several key positions and holds tertiary education at Brighton Technical College in the United Kingdom and Doctor of Science from University of Brighton United Kingdom.

Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Shahril Shamsuddin

Tan Sri Shahril Shamsuddin is the President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Sapura Group, which manages a diversified portfolio of businesses that include oil & gas, secured communications technologies, aviation, automotive manufacturing and property development. He is also the President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Sapura Energy Berhad. In addition, he is the Deputy Chairman of Sapura Industrial Berhad and a Director of Sapura Resources Berhad.

Tan Sri Shahril is a member of the World Economic Forum’s ASEAN Regional Strategy Group, the Asian Executive Board of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Sloan School of Management, and the Board of Governors of the Asia School of Business, a collaboration between MIT Sloan and Bank Negara Malaysia.

Tan Sri Shahril was the recipient of the Legion d’Honneur by the Republic of France in 2007, Malaysia’s Entrepreneur of the Year award by Ernst & Young in 2009 and Man of the Year award by The Oil & Gas Year Malaysia in 2014. He was conferred an Honorary Doctorate in Technology Management by the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2013. He is also a member of the Boards of Trustees of the UTM Endowment Fund and the Perdana Leadership Foundation.

In 2014, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Shahril was conferred Honorary Brigadier General by the Malaysian Armed Forces Council. The Council also appointed him as the Advisor of the Jawatankuasa Pendukung Askar Wataniah.

Tan Sri Shahril obtained an M.Sc. in Management of Technology from MIT Sloan and graduated from the California Polytechnic State University with a B.Sc. in Industrial Technology.

Dato’ Shahriman Shamsuddin

Dato’ Shahriman began his career with Sapura Group in 1991 and has held a number of key senior positions within the Group. As the Managing Director of Sapura Resources Berhad, he manages a diversified portfolio which includes investment holdings, property investment and aviation. He is also a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Sapura Energy Berhad.

Dato’ Shahriman holds a Master of Science in Engineering Business Management from Warwick University, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Purdue University, United States of America.
