Founded in 1985 and incorporated in 1991, Sapura Research Sdn Bhd is one of those few to be granted Research and Development Company status by the Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).

Sapura Research started off as the design arm of a key equipment supplier to Telekom Malaysia, developing fixed line phone models. Then for other customers a variety of products including payphones, SCADA, pagers and Wireless Local Loops Terminals were developed, attaining international recognition.

The focus later centralised on design and development services, including producing termonal equipment for a local cellular network operator and hardware for secure mobile smart card readers.

Sapura Research has strong PCB design capability. Attention to detail and experience in the layout of a PCB is critical to both having a design that works electrically and being assembled reliably. We have extensive experience in the requirements of microstrip Radio Frequency Printed Circuit Boards, switched mode power supply, high speed cpu busses and low noise audio and video processing.

Products have been based on a broad spread of embedded controllers up to 32 bit and Sapura Research has experience in developing communications protocol stacks.
