KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 4): SapuraKencana Petroleum Bhd and its partners have secured contracts worth US$382mil (RM1.58bil) to provide maintenance services and the extension to a drilling project.
The oil and gas heavyweight said on Thursday its joint venture SapuraKencana GE Oil & Gas Services Sdn Bhd was awarded a contract by Murphy Sarawak Oil Company Ltd to maintain GE-supplied turbo-machinery equipment under a long-term service agreement.
“The contract is for a period of approximately 10 years,” it said.
The second contract was awarded by Petronas Floating LNG1 (L) Ltd to provide turbo-machinery maintenance services.
Under the contract, the JV had to maintain the GE-supplied turbo-machinery equipment under a long-term service agreement. This comprises the provision of maintenance services for GE-supplied aero-derivative gas turbines, centrifugal compressors and electric generators and electric motors.
“The contract is for a period of 10 years with an option to extend for an additional period of five years,” it said.
Meanwhile, SapuraKencana’s unit SapuraKencana Drilling Jaya Ltd was granted an extension by BP Trinidad & Tobago LLC to provide its semi-submersible tender assist drilling rig “SKD Jaya”.
“BP has extended the use of the SKD Jaya for its development drilling campaign offshore Trinidad and Tobago for an additional one well and is expected to remain on contract until April 2016,” it said.
